Every year, on the first weekend after the spring equinox, Poznań becomes the capital of fantasy. This is where fantasy fans meet every spring, but also creators and producers. During the 19th century, the Literacka team was also present. Check how it was!
On the last weekend of April (i.e. April 26-28, 2019) in the capital of Greater Poland, you could once again feel the fantastic atmosphere of Pyrkon – a convention that has been a place of interaction of fantasy fans from Poland and Europe for almost 20 years. The festival is not only a great space for conversation, but above all dozens of rooms filled with authors’ meetings, workshops, lectures, exhibitions, competitions and cosplay shows. This year’s edition of the event was also attended by the Literacka team.
Fantastic meetings
Our presence at the Poznań festival is a unique opportunity to talk with authors, take part in interesting lectures, literary discussion panels, as well as meetings with film and series creators. This year, traditionally, there were also attractions for those of us who especially appreciate the unique magic of fantastic literature. The event was visited by, among others Andrzej Pilipiuk and Christie Golden.
We read and we know stories
Fantasy is comics, games, movies, series, but the undisputed core of this genre is literature. Therefore, during this year’s edition of Pyrkon, there were also talks about the Codoczytania.pl system of advanced book recommendations that we are creating. Among the guests of the convention, we found both future users of the platform and people interested in co-creating it as beta testers.
