Can artificial intelligence be a way to increase readership? Is an automatic reviewer a tool you can trust to recommend the right reading for you? We answered these and many other questions during the Warsaw Book Fair.
Last Thursday, May 23, 2019, at 1 p.m. in the Barcelona room at the Warsaw Book Fair, the experts of Literacka Sp. z o. o., that is Dr. Elżbieta Sobczak, Urszula Witkowska and Dr. Krzysztof Sopyła presented the company created and co-financed, incl. by the National Center for Research and Development, the automatic reviewer project. These are specially developed algorithms that “read” books and are able, on the basis of the analysis of their content, to determine the plot characteristics of a specific reading; until now it was only possible to capture by humans.
During the lecture, they talked about the algorithms they use during the work on the project and also revealed what experiments they had used so far and revealed new ideas for the development of the start-up.
The team from Olsztyn for the first time also presented the results of cooperation with the Book Institute and the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University. The researchers also revealed the title of the first novel assessed by Polish artificial intelligence, and the special guest of the event was the author of the title, Zygmunt Miłoszewski.
