About the project: Polish Technological Bridges – China

Literacka Sp. z o. o. is the executor of the project under the Polish Technological Bridges / Activities POIR.03.03.00. Support for the promotion and internationalization of innovative enterprises, Sub-measure POIR.03.03.01 / for which she received a grant under the Intelligent Development Operational Program.

Literacka Sp. z o. o. is a technology startup founded in 2016 by specialists from the accounting and publishing, promotion and event and IT industries.

For the love of books and traveling, the world’s first Internet platform, PlotOnSpot.com (later Story-Planet.com), was created, which takes the world of literary and film stories from the sphere of imagination into a real space on the map. It is a community-powered portal with interesting facts about your favorite books, movies, series and games – in combination with a specific location. Currently available in two language versions: Polish and English, including as a mobile application (Android, iOS).

Our goal is to become the most recognizable storytelling portal in the world within two years, inspiring to:
• tourism in the footsteps of books and films,
• looking for interesting facts about your favorite books, movies, heroes,
• creating interesting content by fans of literature, cinema and travel.

The portal will be equipped with an advanced recommendation system – on July 1, 2018, as part of the R&D subsidy, we started creating an Automatic Reviewer for fictional works in English. Polish and English – to create an AI-intelligent book recommendation system based on deep learning and natural language processing techniques.
Support under Polish Technological Bridges will enable the recognition, preparation of the portal and testing, and then commercial implementation of the system in the Chinese-language version.

Literacka Sp. z o. o. bases its business model on the synergy of two markets: books and tourism.

Why China?
We chose China as one of the target markets not only because of its economic potential, but also because of the target audience, which is a person interested in books and films as well as a traveler.
Considering the dynamic growth of the middle and upper class, which accounts for 1/3 of the entire Chinese population, and that 57% of internationally traveling Chinese are women who are also the main recipients of e-books, it allows us to assume that they are potential users of PLOTonSPOT.com – they use social media, shop online and travel. A good forecast is also the growth of people with secondary and higher education, who travel more, read books and have greater contact with culture. The growing middle class along with the growing Y generation is the most numerous user of social media, consumer of e-commerce and travel services. This is in favor of PLonS, whose main target is the growing, adolescent and novelty middle class and millennials.
