On the other side of the mirror: AI, UX and UI in libraries – MFB

This year’s Malopolska Forum of Libraries is led by a quote from Lewis Carroll’s “What Alicja discovered on the other side of the mirror”:

Alice laughed. “There is no point in trying,” she said, “no one can believe the impossible.”
“I don’t think you have much practice,” said the Queen. – When I was your age, I practiced every day for half an hour. Ah, sometimes I managed to believe six impossible things before breakfast.

The main topics of the conference, which will take place in Krakow on October 23-25, 2019, are artificial intelligence, user experience and user interface. The issues discussed will focus on the forms of modern information services based on the use of artificial intelligence and augmented reality. Speakers and Participants will focus on researching the needs and behaviors of users using the methods and techniques of user experience and user interface, as well as ways of interpreting and applying the results of these studies in improving the library offer,

We couldn’t miss it! On October 25 at 10:45, the head of our research team, Dr. Krzysztof Sopyła, will talk about how a robot can replace a librarian and what is the current state of research conducted by Literacka.

Questions about whether technological progress will make human work no longer necessary are constantly accompanying discussions on the implementation of AI solutions. Can artificial intelligence successfully recommend readers to read? Can a robot read a book and draw conclusions about its plot with the precision of an insightful literary scholar? How do machines learn from text? Or maybe artificial intelligence is the future of the book industry because it best suits the needs of the young generation of readers? These are just some of the issues that the lecture will focus on.

We cordially invite conference participants to Rajski Hyde Park and our speech to the Provincial Public Library in Krakow. More information can be found HERE !

Participation in the conference is free of charge!
